Forty Days of Prayer Day 22

Lord, help us, in the church and in our land.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way."

Day 22 - Prayer for the USA
The weekend's news included talk of a government shutdown and a President's indiscretions. This is the best version of human government we have in this world, built upon ideals of justice, equality, and freedom, but it is still corrupted by selfishness, pride, and fleshly pursuits. Pray for God's mercy upon our nation, our political and community leaders, and our citizenry. Pray for the President by name, that he will know God in Spirit and in truth. Pray for God's work through us, His church, in this land (we are His primary work force in the world that would bring justice, mercy, and love, not the government). And thank God for the freedom to do these things and for those who fought for this and who labor to keep allowing us to live quiet and peaceful lives, for His glory.

Let's keep praying! I'm praying for you!
