EACF 40 Days of Prayer - January 17, 2020

EACF 40 Days of Prayer 2020
Day 17: Pray for God's Glory

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14–21 ESV

One final thing for us to pray from Ephesians 3, that God would receive glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. His goodness includes making our lives and our church community reflections of His glory. How do we pray for this? Let's pray for a heart of worship, that we would think of our entire lives as the canvas on which God paints a picture that blesses us and points to the painter and creator of the beauty in our lives. Pray for a church that is filled with worshippers whose primary goal in life is to give God glory. Pray for our church members, your brothers and sisters, to think of and live for God's glory every day.

This is going to change how we live. But it also means that we grasp how each day is meant to be a day for worshipping God with our lives. There should never be a single day where we are not worshipping God in what we do, how we relate to one another, and how we share life with others. But when we focus on worshipping God...we acknowledge His presence and Lordship over our lives, and we get to enjoy his presence with us.

Pray for God's glory and for you to have a heart of worship in everything you do. Pray for our church and two others specifically by name. Write down their names, and then send them a note that you're praying, asking for specific requests for you to lift up for them. This is day 17 of praying for good.
