Forty Days of Prayer Day 3

Acts 4:31 ESV
"And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness."

Take 5, 10, or 30 minutes or more to pray for this topic. Lift up prayers periodically throughout the day. Include it in a line in your prayer before meals. Pray continually!

Day 3 - Praying for the Spirit's Fullness
Today, we will pray to be a Spirit-filled people. Every Christian has the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of him or her as a sign and seal of God's saving work in us and adoption of us in Jesus' name (Ephesians 1). But there are times when the Holy Spirit comes to strengthen us, like He did for Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.

We are called to live by the Spirit that we can have our minds on the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:5) as opposed to having our minds on things of the flesh. Are you walking in the Spirit of God throughout your day? Do you feel the refreshing presence of the Spirit at your work or when you're driving around in your car? And do you occasionally feel the extra encouragement of the Spirit when you're down, when you're facing temptation, or when you're sharing God's love with others? Is God's Spirit helping you crucify sin and grow in Christ-likeness?

Oh, brothers and sisters, let us pray today to be filled with the Spirit individually and as a church! Let's ask God to give us extra strength during these forty days as we seek God's will for us.

Pray for this for yourself and for everyone in EACF!

I'm praying for you!
- Pastor David
